Exciting news for tennis lovers! Conway Park in Carlton is set for a major upgrade thanks to significant funding aimed at enhancing local sports facilities.

Carlton: Big changes are coming to the tennis courts at Conway Park. They’re getting a major facelift thanks to a nice chunk of funding.
The Gedling Borough Council and the Lawn Tennis Association are teaming up for this project. They’re investing £152,000 to make the courts better for everyone.
This funding is part of a larger £30 million initiative from the Government and the LTA. The goal is to spruce up public tennis courts all over Great Britain.
With this revamp, there will be four brand new courts. They’ll be accessible and ready for the community to enjoy.
Plus, they’re adding new gate-access technology and booking systems. This will make it easier for everyone to get on the courts.
Gedling Borough Council is also pitching in £39,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It’s all about making tennis more accessible and fun for locals.
Councillor Henry Wheeler is excited about the project. He believes it will encourage more people to play tennis and lead to a healthier community.
They’re also planning weekly free tennis sessions for all ages and skill levels. It’s a great way to get people active and involved.
Scott Lloyd, the LTA chief executive, is thrilled about the partnership. He says this investment will keep the courts available for years to come.
Once everything is done, booking a court will be a breeze through the LTA website. Renovations are already underway, aiming to finish by spring 2025, just in time for Wimbledon!
