West London: A man in his 60s lost his life in a fire at a care home. The incident happened on Elgin Close in Shepherd’s Bush.

Firefighters arrived quickly, with four engines and about 25 crew members. They worked hard to control the flames, which damaged half of a first-floor flat.

Sadly, emergency services found the man in the flat. He was pronounced dead right there.

The police are notifying his next of kin. A few residents were evacuated as a safety measure.

As for the cause of the fire, it’s still unclear. The London Fire Brigade is looking into it.

Two other people received treatment at the scene and were taken to the hospital. The fire brigade got the first call at 2:45 PM and had it under control in about two hours.

A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service shared that they were called at 2:39 PM. They sent several resources, including ambulance crews and a paramedic.

Despite their best efforts, one person sadly didn’t make it. It’s a heartbreaking situation for everyone involved.
