Calum Scanlon’s impressive return to play earns praise from Millwall’s coach after a long injury layoff

London: Millwall’s head coach, Alex Neil, was really pleased with how Calum Scanlon played in their recent match against Hull City, even though they lost 1-0.
Scanlon, who’s on loan from Liverpool, joined the team to help out and give Joe Bryan a breather. In this game, Bryan played in a back three, while Scanlon took on a wider role.
It had been a tough few months for Scanlon due to a back issue, so this match marked his first time back on the pitch in four months.
Neil praised him, saying, “He was excellent.” He noted Scanlon’s athleticism and technical skills, saying he can really handle the ball well.
At first, the game was a bit fast for Scanlon, but Neil believes there’s a lot of potential to work with. He added that Scanlon fits the type of player they want at Millwall.
Once the game hit the 60-minute mark, Neil had to be cautious. With injuries piling up, he needed to protect Scanlon. He mentioned that some players on the field weren’t fully fit, but they had limited options.
