Newham: A tragic incident unfolded when a gang attacked a 26-year-old man named Anselam Senaj in a taxi. Two men, Muhammad Saqib Khan and Muhammad Samiyul Miah, were found guilty of murder after a lengthy trial.

Alongside them, Ibrahim Naim and Zain Ali were convicted of manslaughter. The police reported that the gang used a stolen car to block the taxi Anselam was in, then brutally attacked him.

Despite the quick response from officers and paramedics, Anselam sadly died at the scene from his injuries. The attack happened on November 11, 2023, and it was over in just seconds.

After the incident, warrants were issued for the suspects, and they were arrested shortly after. Saqib Khan even tried to lie about his whereabouts during the trial, claiming he was at home playing board games.

He had fled to Amsterdam but was eventually caught and brought back to the UK. All four men are now awaiting sentencing, which is set for March 14, 2024.

Detective Sergeant Brett Hagen, who led the investigation, expressed gratitude to Anselam’s family for their patience throughout the trial. He emphasized the thorough investigation that led to the convictions.
