Croydon: The trial is heating up as the defence wraps up their closing arguments. Hassan Sentamu, just 18, is accused of killing 15-year-old Elianne Andam back in September 2023. He claims he wasn’t fully responsible due to his autism.

Last week, the prosecutor, Alex Chalk KC, made a strong case against Sentamu. He argued that the defence’s claims are based on weak evidence. Chalk emphasized that the choice to stab Elianne was entirely Sentamu’s, not influenced by his condition. He pointed out that there’s no proof linking autism to violent outbursts.

Then, the defence lawyer, Pavlos Panayi KC, took the floor. He talked about Sentamu’s tough childhood and the bullying he faced from his ex-girlfriend and her friends just a day before the incident. He promised to tackle the idea of premeditation in his next speech.
