Heads up, drivers! More road closures are coming this week as bridge repairs continue on the A52, so plan your routes accordingly.

Nottingham: Drivers, listen up! There are more road closures happening this week on the A52. The repairs on a damaged bridge are still in progress, and it’s going to affect your travel plans.
Last weekend, they closed the Queen’s Medical Centre roundabout to fix the bridge. This damage goes back to 2018 when a lorry hit a beam. Crazy, right?
National Highways said the work over the weekend went well. They managed to remove the last bit of the damaged bridge beam. But don’t get too comfortable; more closures are coming this Friday night.
From 8 PM to 8 AM, traffic will be diverted. You’ll need to take the slip roads instead. So, if you’re heading that way, give yourself extra time.
Next weekend, they’ll close the roads again from Friday night until Monday morning. This time, they’ll be putting in a new bridge beam. There’s even a backup date if needed.
Here’s what’s closing: the A52 eastbound from Priory roundabout to QMC roundabout, and parts of Middleton Boulevard. It’s a bit of a mess, so keep an eye out.
Also, lane one of the northern bridge is closed all the time. National Highways is asking everyone to follow the detour signs and stay updated. Things can change quickly, so check their website for the latest info.
They started fixing the QMC bridge back in August 2024, and they expect to wrap it up by this summer. Fingers crossed!
