Amandaland, the sequel to Motherland, airs tonight. Fans can spot familiar London filming locations throughout the series, adding a fun twist to the viewing experience.

London: The city is a popular spot for filming. The BBC is adding Amandaland to its list of shows. It’s a sequel to the hit series Motherland, premiering tonight at 9 PM.
This new six-part season follows Amanda, played by Lucy Punch. She’s dealing with teenage kids, post-divorce life, and a move from Chiswick to South Harlesden. Plus, her mom Felicity, played by Joanna Lumley, is always around with complaints.
If you’re a fan, keep an eye out for familiar spots. Filming took place in Islington, Angel, and Forest Gate. Unlike Motherland, which filmed in Muswell Hill and Acton, Amandaland has its own unique locations.
For a fun trip down memory lane, check out the original series’ filming spots. The characters often hung out in a coffee shop, supposedly in Queen’s Park, but it’s actually Korto on Alexandra Park Road.
In season 2, Amanda transforms a kebab shop into a trendy store in Muswell Hill. The area is usually a knitting shop when not filming. Shops along Muswell Hill Broadway also make appearances, especially when Julia is on a frantic search for school supplies.
Speaking of schools, the kids in the show attend Southfield Primary School in Acton. You can spot the school’s exterior, and their sports days are filmed at nearby parks.
Julia’s family house is located in Acton’s Avenue Gardens. Her mom lives in Harlesden, while Liz and her kids are near Notting Hill. Julia’s office scenes were filmed at the University of West London Brentford.
In season 2, the gang takes a weekend trip, but it was actually filmed in Twickenham. They visited local spots like The Eel Pie pub and St Mary’s Church.
Details about Amandaland’s sets are still under wraps. However, crews were seen prepping various streets in Islington. Amanda has moved to a house on Chestnut Avenue in Forest Gate.
Don’t forget to catch Amandaland on BBC One at 9 PM tonight. You can also binge all six episodes on iPlayer right away!
