Will Hughes shares his hopes of extending his contract with Crystal Palace as he reflects on his role in the team this season

London: Will Hughes is really keen on sticking around with Crystal Palace. His contract is up at the end of the 2024-25 season, and he’s hoping for an extension.
The 29-year-old has been a solid player for the team, showing up 18 times in the Premier League this season. He was almost out of contract last year but got an extra year at Selhurst Park.
“Of course I would like to stay,” Hughes told the South London Press. He’s all about being there for the team, just like everyone else should be.
He mentioned the fierce competition in the midfield, which keeps everyone on their toes. If someone isn’t performing, there’s always someone ready to step in. “It’s healthy competition,” he said.
Hughes is now playing alongside Ismaila Sarr, who he teamed up with at Watford. Sarr recently joined Palace for £12.5 million from Marseille and has been making waves, contributing to seven goals this season.
“He’s really come into his own,” Hughes said about Sarr. He knew Sarr would shine because of his talent and humble attitude. “When he’s on form, he’s unstoppable,” Hughes added.
After a rough start to the season, the Eagles have turned things around, losing just once in their last ten games. Hughes is proud of how the team has bounced back.
“We have to keep going – nothing has happened yet,” he said, emphasizing the need to stay focused and keep climbing the table.
